It has been a habit of most persons in the world to refer to Chinese teas when they speak of teas, but tea means different things to different people. In the Caribbean, for example, any hot beverage that is consumed is referred to as tea. Whether in lean times or for various illnesses or just out of habit, Caribbean people have a wide variety of plant materials that they brew as tea, either for health purposes or as a beverage or for both purposes.
